About Your Photographer

Hello! I'm Ginger of Out West Originals, the one you will see behind the lens more than in front of it. I am based in Lebanon, Oregon and love to travel to beautiful areas of Oregon's various landscapes.

Dogs and horses are, by far, my favorite of the four-legged pet options. I don't know a day in my life without the companionship of a dog, and all but 15 years of hearing a horse nicker when I walk out the door.

The bonds that we form with our pets are strong as they give unconditionally, greet us with wagging tails or a little nicker, and provide comfort on rough days. That's why, as pet parents, we should Honor, Celebrate, and Commemorate them with portraits.

Your four-legged family members are as important as the two-leggers and deserve to have wall space or an album of photos so they can be remembered long after they are gone. As much as we want our pets to live as long as we do, that's just not how God made them.

What do I get?: You’re getting more than a portrait session—you’re getting a completely guided, stress-free experience designed to celebrate the bond you share with your dog or horse.

Planning Session: We’ll meet (in person or virtually) to craft a session that feels true to you and your animal—choosing locations that fit your style, discussing outfits, planning the best light and timing, and making sure you feel fully prepared.

A Relaxed, Enjoyable Portrait Session: Whether we’re out on the trail, in a quiet pasture, or exploring your favorite spot, your session will be fun, easy, and tailored to your animal’s comfort. I’ll take care of the details—your only job is to enjoy the moment.

Image Reveal & Artwork Design: About two weeks later, you’ll see your images for the first time during your reveal appointment. We’ll sort through your favorites together and design artwork that fits your home, your story, and how you want to remember this chapter.

And for every image you purchase as artwork, you’ll receive the matching digital file sized for sharing on social media.
How much will it cost?: The creation fee is $195, due when we schedule your planning session. This covers your customized experience—planning, the portrait session itself, and your image reveal.

Your investment in artwork depends on how many images you fall in love with and the type of artwork that speaks to you. Most clients choose a mix of wall art and an album so they can enjoy their portraits every day with an investment of $1,500-$2,500 and have a statement piece for their wall and an album featuring 15 or more of their favorite images.

My goal is to help you choose artwork that fits your home, your story, and the way you want to remember this season of your dog’s or horse’s life.
When do I book a session and when does the session take place?: If you’re ready to get started, you can jump straight into scheduling a Discovery Call. This is where we’ll chat about your dog or horse, answer any questions, and choose a date for your Planning Session.

During your Planning Session, we’ll map out the details of your experience—and that’s when we’ll schedule both your Portrait Session and your Image Reveal & Artwork Design Appointment.

Everything flows naturally from one step to the next, and I’ll guide you through the entire process so you always know what comes next.
Where will we take photos, and have you been there?: Your Portrait Session location is completely up to you—whether it’s your favorite trail, your horse’s home pasture, a beach your dog loves, or somewhere that simply feels like “you.”

If you’re not sure where to go, no worries. I have a curated list of scenic, animal-friendly locations that photograph beautifully for both dogs and horses.

Every location I recommend is a place I’ve personally visited, so I’m familiar with the layout, lighting, and the overall feel of the area. And if you have a spot in mind that I haven’t worked at yet, I’ll go scout it ahead of time so I can plan your session with confidence and intention.

Together, we’ll choose a place that fits your story to allow your dog or horse shine.
How long will it take to get my photos?: After your Image Reveal & Artwork Design Appointment and once your order is paid in full, I send everything to my professional photography lab. Each piece is handcrafted with care, so delivery typically takes 4–6 weeks.

Your artwork and matching digital files will be delivered to you, and I’ll keep you updated every step of the way.
What if my dog doesn't have good recall?: No worries at all—most of the dogs I photograph stay on leash for their entire session. Many locations actually require leashes, and I follow those rules to keep your pup safe.

I’ll guide you on where to stand and how to hold the leash so it stays subtle and easy for me to remove during editing. Your dog’s safety and comfort come first, and we’ll still create beautiful, natural portraits.
What if my horse is antsy or just wants to eat, will you still be able to get good photos?: Absolutely. Horses are naturally curious, expressive, and sometimes a little wiggly—that’s all part of who they are, and it’s completely normal.

If your horse gets antsy or distracted, we simply adjust. I may have you take them for a short walk to help them settle, loosen up, and refocus. Most horses aren’t used to standing “photo perfect” with ears forward on command, so movement breaks are part of the process.

With patience, good timing, and an understanding of equine behavior, I’ll capture the images you’re hoping for—without stress for you or your horse.
